My name is Bianca, and nothing brings me greater joy than sharing the dishes I hold close to my heart. When my children ventured off to explore the world, I found myself with an empty kitchen and no one to pamper with my cooking.
Today, I welcome travellers to Felsina Culinaria for authentic, hands-on Bolognese cooking courses near Bologna, based on family recipes and techniques passed down by my grandmother.
Guests may book a private cooking course or join a shared cooking course. We also offer a dedicated vegetarian cooking course and dishes.
Whenever possible, we cook with seasonal, local and organic ingredients, including produce from our vegetable garden. Courses take place in our air-conditioned kitchen and veranda, before you sit to enjoy what we have prepared.
My mission is simple: to preserve my family’s culinary heritage across borders and cultures. To ensure every guest learns with clarity and confidence, our courses are based on European Quality Assurance in Vocational Education and Training (EQAVET) practices, with documented learning outcomes and assessment rubrics.
I welcome you to Villa degli Olmi, a 15-hectare estate and former hunting lodge in Castel San Pietro Terme, just 20 minutes from Bologna’s city centre. Here, Bologna’s culinary tradition is not only served; it is taught, practised, and taken home.

Participation
I understand that I will be participating in a cooking experience organized by Felsina Culinaria, based at Via Tanari 2013, Castel San Pietro Terme (BO).
Kitchen Environment
I am aware that the class involves the use of kitchen tools (such as knives), hot surfaces, and other cooking equipment. Some parts of the class may take place in outdoor areas (for example, a terrace), which may involve certain risks typically associated with such activities.
Responsibility
I take personal responsibility for my participation and for any minors attending under my care. I understand that Felsina Culinaria will take all reasonable measures to ensure a safe environment and will not be held liable for any injuries or damages unless caused by gross negligence or intentional misconduct.
Health & Allergies
I confirm that I am in good health and able to safely take part in the class. If I (or anyone in my group) have any food allergies or medical conditions that could affect participation, I will inform the organisers in advance so that necessary precautions can be taken.
Conduct
I agree to follow the instructions provided during the class and to participate in a respectful, considerate, and responsible manner to ensure a positive experience for everyone involved.
Photos & Videos
Photos and videos may be taken during the event for promotional use by Felsina Culinaria (e.g. website or social media). Any identifiable images of participants will only be used with their prior consent.
Cancellation Policy
We offer a full refund for cancellations made up to two weeks before the event. For cancellations made between two weeks and 24 hours prior to the class, a 50% refund is provided. Then, no refunds are issued for cancellations made within 24 hours of the class.

- How long does the class last?About 3 hours, including having lunch/dinner. 4 hours if we cook multiple first/main courses.
- What is included in the experience?- Cooking and eating the meals

- Pick-up and drop-off from Castel San Pietro Terme station or parking - Can I choose multiple dishes?Definitely! We recommend choosing a maximum of 4-5 dishes at a time.
- Are the prices indicated per person?Yes.
- Do you offer discounts?Yes! 50% off for children 10 years old or younger and 15% off for groups of 7 people or more.
- When is the booking confirmed?When the customer completes the payment.
- Are the classes in English?We can have the class in English, Italian, or French depending on your preference. I also understand a bit of Spanish and Portuguese.
- What days are you open?We are open 7 days a week, year-round.
- Is every dish made from scratch?Yes, every dish you choose to cook from our menu will be made from scratch, without using pasta makers.
- How often do trains to Castel San Pietro Terme run?There are trains running every 16-42 minutes, ideally the best train for the lunch session leaves Bologna Centrale at 10:34 AM and arrives at Castel S. Pietro at 10:48 AM. While for the dinner session it is the one leaving at 5:34 PM and arriving at 5:47 PM.
You can buy tickets even 5-10 minutes before boarding the train as they never run out. You can purchase them on the Trenitalia.it website or at any "tabaccheria" store. - How can I check the classes availability?You can find the calendar above, on this page.
- How big are the portions?Let’s just say I take great pride in the fact that no guest has ever left my house hungry!
- Do you have air conditioning?Yes. We are equipped with AC.
- Are your ingredients locally sourced?Yes. We use bio produce from our garden and ingredients from trusted local producers around our village, sourcing elsewhere only when necessary.
